What people are saying about Mark’s methods and the Kuriosity Lab:

“Mark Gordon with his Kuriosity Lab has the ability, knowledge, and passion to do for education today what Jonathan Kozol did for an earlier generation: identify systemic problems in our education system and suggest insightful, concrete solutions.”
– Gary Cohn, Pulitzer Prize winning investigative reporter and University of Southern California professor

“Teachers really need this material.”
– Thomas Armstrong, author of 14 books including Neurodiversity

“If I were to redesign schools to match how the brain works best, it would be one long gym class… [Mark] is way ahead of us.”
– Best-selling author (Brain Rules)  and professor,  John Medina

“In less than six months, [my son] has become an ‘A’ student in English class where he had been struggling as a ‘C’ student before. My other son has increased his SAT Essay score over 100 points to a perfect score in less than a month.”
– Sheila A., Mother of Two Students

“My son came to Mark and was seriously depressed and feeling like a social outcast. He played computer games 50 or 60 hours to escape. With Mark’s help, his life has absolutely changed. He is writing a stunning book I am in absolute awe of–created a web site about it. He now has girlfriends and goes out dancing regularly. But that’s not all. He has gotten a part in an Academy Award winning director’s upcoming movie. After watching this all happen, I had to start using the practices as well—life is good.” – Margaret Barton

“You learn a lot in a little amount of time”
– Blake, Student

“[Mark’s] pedagogical ideas and methods worked so well because they were based on knowledge of teens and their real needs and interests… he offered [my son] a lifeboat and safe harbor in which to rebuild his self-concept and experience in learning.” – Mother of a Former Student

“I found [Mark] to be consistently true to his convictions. He continually designed learning environments and tasks to hone students’ skills and to jar them out of complacency.”
– Mary Menacho, Head of Trinity School

“Mark has restructured our writing, SAT, and reading comprehension programs. The method works even for the slowest learners while inspiring my more talented students. The students are happy. The parents are happy. And so am I.”
– Raymond Choy, Head of Aspire Learning Center

“You don’t have to study as hard. The stuff sticks.”
– Collin Webb,  former student attending St. Johns College

“His role has been crucial to the success of our school… To be successful with students (here) requires creativeness, openness, compassion and the ability to motivate. Mark has all of these.”
– Heidi Schiessler, Assistant Head of Mid-Peninsula School

Mark Gordon had my Special Ed pre-teen students on their feet and completely involved, mind, body, and intellect, in the game and the writing lesson he was teaching. My students were transformed into parts of speech, all arms and legs, and were organizing themselves into beautiful, complete sentences right before my eyes. Do they still remember what he taught them? Yes, and they grin when discussing verbs and even adjectives. Mark is part dancer, part poet, part educator, and part salesman, all for the benefit of the class. This is education at its best. –Cecelia Roddy, Intermediate Special Day Class Teacher, Santa Cruz City Schools

Mark, you have such a wonderful talent for making science come alive!  what fub it was to watch the children’s faces when they were ‘checking out’ an experiment You gave them a gift and truly made a difference! –Pat Fernando, teacher, Charles Armstrong School (specializing in dyslexic students)

“Mr. Gordon excites his students curiosity and motivates them to take responsibility for their learning through participation, research, and discovery.”– Robert Foley, Director of General Studies, South Peninsula Hebrew Day

Thank you for all the confidence you had in me and instilled in me. You inspired me to get off my ass and work my dreams. You are the first teacher who recognized my dreams and helped me achieve them. I thank you very much and hold you in high esteem. Keep teaching kids to follow their dreams. — Jon

You are an amazing teacher. I often thought to myself while sitting in your class that you were a very lucky man to be in the profession you were born for. You have helped me so much this year with your wisdom and sincere optimism. Through my hardest days you were patient and one of the best listeners I’ve ever met. –Jessie
